Add a contract and its signers to an invoice

Add your agreement, choose who must sign it and track each signature from the invoice editor.

Add your agreement, choose who must sign it and track each signature from the invoice editor.

Steps

  1. Open the invoice and select its Contract tile.

  2. Select Create Contract or Add a Contract. Choose a saved template, or enter the agreement in the editor.

  3. Review the text, event details and signature fields, then save.

  4. Check the primary client and any additional signing recipients before sending the contract.

Add another client signer

  1. Select the + next to the client/recipient area.

  2. Search for the person. The search includes account contacts, so check the name and email carefully.

  3. Choose a signing access level, such as Sign & Pay Access or Signing Access Only, and select Grant Access.

  4. Repeat for each additional required signer.

More than one person can sign the same contract. You do not need a separate invoice for each signer. A person with view-only or payment-only access is not a required signer. If the wrong person is added with signing access, review/remove that access rather than leaving the contract waiting on them.

Track signatures and payment access

Review the E-Signature list for each required person. A partially signed contract still has signatures outstanding. Client invoice/payment access also depends on the document settings; do not assume one client signature finishes every requirement or that every invoice must block payment until signing.

Add a business counter-signer

Open Signature Settings and select the business counter-signer. Review the default/automatic signing choice deliberately. When automatic signing is configured, the saved business signature can be applied after the required client signatures. For manual signing, use the counter-signer's menu and Update Signature. Check the actual signature status; a pending label is not proof that automatic signing is enabled.

Contract notification preferences are separate from selecting a counter-signer. Do not rely on a dedicated counter-sign request without checking the notification flow in your account.

Preview, send and download

Use Preview > Contract to inspect the agreement. Use Send to Client when you are ready to deliver access to the selected recipients. After completion, review the signatures and use Download Contract for a copy. Changes to an agreement that has already been signed require care; keep the signed record and review any new signing requirement before resending.

Signing notices

Selecting a business counter-signer is separate from receiving contract notices. Signed notifications use the configured recipient rules. Review the signature list for outstanding signatures rather than assuming a separate counter-sign request will be emailed.
