SMS Text Message Types

Releventful's fully integrated SMS text messaging platform gives you full control over your sales process so you can book more events and close more leads.

Here are the supported types of SMS text messages you can send in Releventful.

Note: The number of parts for Sales Campaign Messages and Payment Reminder messages will depend on any additional text you provide for the message.

*What are SMS Text Message Parts?

The mobile carriers break up each SMS text message into parts when the message reaches a certain number of characters. The character limit for a message part is between 153-160 characters with a maximum amount of characters supported of 1600 for the entire text message. Each message part is charged separately by the carrier and counts as one SMS message.

Message Part Character Limits

For SMS messages which are 160 or less, the full 160 characters will be used for the SMS message part.

For SMS messages which are over 160 characters, only 153 characters can be used for the SMS message part and the remaining characters are used for a special header (UDH) for ordering the messages and to designate where the message part belongs.

How Many SMS Messages Do I Need?

The number of SMS Messages depends on your sales volume or the number of employees you are scheduling in Releventful.

A general estimation can be done based on the number of active events your business handles.

If you're not sure the number of SMS messages you need, we recommend starting with the lowest plan to see how many you use per month. Our SMS messaging platform will automatically notify you when you reach your limit and will begin sending emails for the remainder of the month. You can adjust your SMS usage and plan as needed.

How can I see how many SMS messages I'm using each month?

You can view the number of SMS messages you're using each month in your

SMS Usage Report.

To view the SMS Usage Report

  • Click on Scheduler in the side navigation, then SMS Usage Report

  • Use the date picker tool to choose the month you would like to view

Can I opt-out of sending SMS messages for scheduling my employees?

Yes, you can turn off SMS employee scheduling messages by

  • Click on Settings in the side navigation

  • Click on Communication Preferences

  • Uncheck the Enable Employee Scheduling SMS Notifications setting
