Return an eligible successful online payment from its original invoice payment. This sends real money through the provider; it is separate from changing an invoice charge.
Open the event from Search Events or from Dashboard, using Calendar or Pipeline. Open its invoice from Financials, or choose Edit Invoice from the lead details action bar. Select the intended invoice if more than one exists.
Open Payments, select the paid online payment and open Refunds and history.
Review prior and pending refunds. Enter Payment amount to return and, where offered, Customer convenience fee to return.
Review the total, limits and reason. Confirm only when you intend to return money.
Check Refund history. Use Refresh status for a pending or uncertain result instead of submitting a duplicate.
The form separates payment principal from the customer convenience fee and excludes tips. Once confirmed, returned principal becomes owed on the invoice again; returning the customer fee reduces that invoice fee. Review invoice charges separately if services are also being reduced.
A refund can be pending or fail. Do not promise receipt before confirmation. Deleting an invoice or recording a negative payment does not refund a transaction. Preserve the original payment and refund history.
Releventful Pay checks
The original invoice and successful provider payment are required. The partial-refund path checks settlement before submitting. Review the amount offered and provider result. If another refund is pending or unknown, refresh it first.
