Understanding Employee Roles and Permissions

Learn how employee roles and permissions control what team members can access and do in Releventful.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Roles group common access. Review what the employee can actually open and do before assigning a broader role.

Why this matters

Roles, brand access, event assignments, and notification choices work together. Review each of them so employees can do their jobs without seeing unrelated business or client information.

Before you start

You may need an owner or administrator role to change employee access or account-level preferences.

Employee Permissions

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click Employee

  3. Click Manage Employees

  4. Select the employee from your team

  5. Review the Employee Details and Administrative Access

  6. For employee access, review Feature Permissions and update only what is needed

  7. Click Save Draft

  8. Click Apply Permissions

It is best practice to ask the employee to open a representative feature and confirm access.

A useful decision

Access may depend on the role, the selected business brand, and an event assignment. Test the intended task with a representative employee account before broadening permissions.

Check the result

Check the person's access and notifications from their role. Review their event assignments separately.

Important to know

A role, brand assignment, and event assignment can each limit access. A missing alert may also be caused by the employee's communication preferences.

Employee Roles

Employee roles are used to set up a default pay rate for roles within your organization. These default pay rates are used to calculate event employee costs estimations. Employee Roles can be added to your team under Employee Details of the employee's profile.
