Managing the Client Portal

Learn how to manage a client’s event portal, including tasks, forms, messages, documents, and client-facing information.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Open the event portal to manage client tasks, forms, messages, and shared documents. Check the client's view after edits.

Why this matters

A portal template is a reusable starting point for an event type. The event portal is the view for one client. Build the repeatable experience once, then check a sample event to see what the client will actually receive.

Before you start

Check the event type and who should see the portal. An account role with portal editing access may be required.

In Releventful

  1. Use Search Events to find the event and open its side panel. Under Quick Actions, click Open Portal.

  2. Click Add To-Do for a client task, Add document for a file or New Message for a conversation; complete the requested fields.

  3. Click Save for a task or document, or Send for a message; use View Event as Guest to see the resulting client view.

A useful decision

Review the portal as the client before inviting them. An internal file or task belongs to the same event but may be intentionally hidden from the client.

Check the result

Preview the client's portal and verify access. A template edit may need to be applied to an existing event separately.

Important to know

Saving a template does not automatically prove an existing client's portal changed. Review event impact, open the event portal, and inspect the client view before sharing it.
