Setting Up Your Sales Pipeline

Learn how to create and organize sales stages that reflect your process and keep lead follow-up and reporting consistent.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Your pipeline stages should reflect the decisions your team makes from inquiry through booking or loss. A simple, consistent set of stages makes follow-up and reporting useful.

Before you start

Agree on the meaning of each stage and identify any campaigns or workflows that currently start when a stage changes.

In Releventful

  1. Click Settings > Sales Settings > Sales Stage to see the current columns.

  2. Click Add at the bottom of the stage list, enter a short stage name, and click Save. To rename an existing stage, use its edit control, change the name, and save.

  3. Use Reorder Stages if the stage order should match the way leads progress through your business.

  4. Click Pipeline in the top bar and check that the stages appear in the right order. Click a sample lead card to see its current stage and related Activity.

  5. Move the sample lead only if appropriate, then inspect Activity and scheduled messages or tasks for a workflow triggered by the move.
