Stripe payment statuses and common questions

Review the invoice payment and matching provider result before deciding whether money has moved. An open checkout is not proof of payment.

Read the status

  • Not Paid or Overdue: an unpaid request, with the due date determining whether it is overdue.

  • Processing: an attempt may await customer action, verification or a provider result. Investigate before retrying.

  • Paid: check whether it was processed online or recorded manually. Paid does not establish the bank payout date.

  • Failed: check the reason and any later attempt before requesting another payment.

Check the Stripe attempt

  1. Open the invoice and payment. Note amount, time and transaction reference.

  2. Find the matching transaction in the connected Stripe account. Check its status and required action.

  3. If Stripe confirms success but Releventful disagrees, ask Releventful support to reconcile the matching record. Do not mark an unconfirmed payment paid or submit another charge to clear the status.

Verification, bank processing, card authentication and payouts have different timelines. Use the actual transaction's current estimate instead of promising every payment is instant or completes in a fixed number of days.

Other common questions

A cancelled or incomplete Stripe attempt can result from an unfinished checkout. Check the attempt rather than assuming the reason, and check whether another attempt succeeded.
