Why this matters
The tax type assigned to a package or add-on determines how tax is calculated when that item is used on an invoice. Setting the correct tax type helps ensure your client is charged the expected amount.
Before you start
Confirm which tax type should apply to the package or add-on you are updating.
In Releventful
Go to Billing & Sales and select Manage Packages or Manage Add-Ons.
Open the package or add-on you want to update.
Select Edit Tax Types or the available tax selector.
Choose the appropriate tax type and click Save.
Add the item to a sample invoice and review the tax amount and invoice total.
A useful decision
Different packages and add-ons may require different tax treatment. Select the tax type based on how that specific item should be taxed rather than assuming the same tax applies to every item.
Check the result
Review a sample invoice and confirm that the expected tax is applied to the item and that the invoice total is correct before using it with a client.
Important to know
Changes made to a package or add-on are intended for future use. If the item has already been added to an existing client invoice, review that invoice separately to confirm its tax, service charges, and total are correct.
