Open the lead created from the conversation, review its source and history, assign an owner, and choose the next sales step.
Why this matters
Website chat can help visitors ask questions and submit an inquiry without waiting for your team. When available for your account, approve its guidance and test the visitor experience before publishing it to a live page.
Before you start
Confirm website access, the intended brand, and the team member who will follow up with new leads.
In Releventful
Select the chat-created Lead in the Pipeline
Review Activity Summary and check whether a campaign already started
Navigate to the Overview tab
Click Edit Sales Information
Choose the Sales Rep and Sales Stage
Click Save Sales Info
Navigate to Tasks tab
Click + Add Task for follow-up if needed
Reopen the lead activity to confirm the owner and next action.
A useful decision
Define what information makes an inquiry useful and when a team member should take over. Test that consent, lead ownership, and an existing workflow behave as expected before using the chat on a public page.
Check the result
Submit a test inquiry from the public site and verify that the conversation, lead, and any appointment appear for the team.
Important to know
Saving or previewing guidance does not contact a visitor. A published chat can create a lead and start an existing workflow after an inquiry is submitted with permission to follow up.
