Getting Started with Website Chat

Learn how to set up, test, and publish Rae Website Chat to answer visitor questions, capture inquiries, and create new leads from your website.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Website Chat can answer visitor questions and help capture inquiries from your site. Set up the account before embedding it.

Why this matters

Website chat can help visitors ask questions and submit an inquiry without waiting for your team. When available for your account, approve its guidance and test the visitor experience before publishing it to a live page.

Before you start

Confirm website access, the intended brand, and the team member who will follow up with new leads.

In Releventful

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click Rae AI

  3. Navigate to Configure Rae

  4. Click Sales Guidance & Rules

  5. Navigate to Website Chat

  6. Choose the Brand and Allowed Pages

  7. Enter the Opening Question

  8. Select the Lead Form visitors will use

  9. Click Save Setup Draft

Click Test Rae replies and Preview saved draft with sample questions. In Review & Approve, select the saved version and click Approve to save the guidance.

In Website installation, choose the approved version and click Publish the selected version when available.

How to make the most of this step

Begin in Settings > Rae AI > Sales guidance & rules. Prepare how Rae greets visitors, which brand's information it uses, what inquiry information to collect, and when staff take over. Use Test Rae replies to check a sample conversation. Approve guidance and publish only if the paid website chat feature is available for your account.

A useful decision

Before completing this task, compare the change with a sample record of the same kind. This confirms that the client, employee, amount, or timing affected is the one you intended.

Check the result

Submit a test inquiry from the public site and verify that the conversation, lead, and any appointment appear for the team.

Important to know

Saving or previewing guidance does not contact a visitor. A published chat can create a lead and start an existing workflow after an inquiry is submitted with permission to follow up.
