Use online payments to simplify client collections

Modernize your business by offering convenient online payment options to your clients.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Online payments give clients a way to pay through their invoice while keeping your venue's requests, payment history and remaining balance together. Choose methods and dates that match your agreement with the client.

Offer a manageable schedule

A payment schedule can divide the invoice into a deposit and later installments. For example, monthly requests can spread payments across the planning period. Each request needs a clear amount and due date. Scheduled installments differ from allowing a client to pay less toward one request; use Allow Partial Payments for that option.

Choose methods your account supports

Clients may choose card or bank payments where supported. A card attempt can give a prompt result, while a bank payment can require verification and processing. Neither guarantees on-time payment or an immediate deposit into your bank account. Check the provider result and funding information separately.

Understand fees

If you use a percentage convenience fee, dividing the payment into smaller installments does not by itself lower that percentage. Review the fee and each checkout total. See convenience-fee settings.

Reduce follow-up

Reminders can ask clients to pay on the dates you configure. Supported automatic payments require the client's authorization; they can still fail and need review. See automatic payments and reminders.

Check the result

Review successful payments and remaining requests on the invoice. Record money collected elsewhere only after confirming receipt. An external payment app does not automatically update the Releventful invoice.
