Set an out-of-office reply

Let clients and other conversation participants know when you are away, and turn your automatic reply off when you return.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Use an out-of-office reply to let people know when you are away and when they can expect to hear from you. This is a personal setting for your Releventful login; each team member manages their own reply.

Write and save your reply

  1. Open Settings in the left-hand navigation.

  2. Expand Communication preferences and select Out of Office Settings.

  3. In Out of Office Reply, write the message you want people to receive. Include your return date and, if appropriate, another contact they can reach while you are away.

  4. Select Save to save your message.

Turn automatic replies on

Turn on the Out of Office switch when you are ready to use your reply. The switch saves the change when you turn it on or off. Wait for the save confirmation before leaving the page.

Turning this on enables real automatic replies. Releventful uses your saved message when a message is delivered to you in a Releventful conversation. It sends your out-of-office reply once per conversation, rather than after every message in the same conversation.

A reminder appears at the top of Releventful while your out-of-office setting is on.

Turn replies off when you return

Return to Settings > Communication preferences > Out of Office Settings and turn the switch off. You can also use Manage your settings in the out-of-office reminder to return to this page.

Example reply

Thanks for your message. I am away until [return date] and will reply after I return. If you need help sooner, please contact [name] at [email address or phone number].

Replace the details in brackets before saving your reply.

What this setting does not change

  • It does not turn on an out-of-office reply for your colleagues. Each person must turn on their own setting.

  • It does not pause scheduled campaigns or other automated messages.
