Check the report period and filters before using a total to make a business decision.
Steps
Open Reports and select the report by name.
Check the date range, brand and active filters.
Review the result count and rows. Use the page controls if the report has more than one page.
Review the totals shown with the report, keeping their column labels and calculation basis in mind.
What a total represents
A payment total, invoice total and pipeline estimate answer different questions. Check whether the report uses event dates, invoice dates or payment dates and which statuses it includes. Do not assume a page subtotal represents every matching record unless that report labels it that way.

Totals and pages
Where a report shows a totals row, that row is populated from the server's report totals rather than simply adding the rows displayed on the current page. Not every report type has that row. Keep the active filters, report type and date basis with any total you share.
