Cancel an event when it will no longer go ahead. Use cancellation rather than simply hiding it from active views.

Steps

  1. Open the event for editing and find its cancellation control in Event Info.

  2. Set the event as cancelled and save.

  3. Review the event status, scheduled activity, client access and any outstanding financial work before considering the cancellation complete.

What cancellation changes

Saving an event as cancelled deactivates its event To-Do/message automation and payment reminder notices in the cancellation flow. It is different from archiving or deleting the record.

Handle money separately

Cancellation is not a processor refund and does not by itself settle a balance, cancel a real bank/card transaction or reverse an accounting entry. Review payment statuses and your cancellation agreement before taking a separate financial action.

Client portal access

The current event portal retrieval path blocks public/client and guest users from a cancelled event. Staff access is still controlled by their event permissions. Review any separately shared document or invoice access rather than assuming cancellation revokes every kind of link.
