Understanding Event Statuses

Learn how to update event statuses accurately and understand how status changes may trigger workflows, messages, or tasks.

An event status tells the team where the event stands. It can also start an enabled workflow, so change it when the real event state changes.

What is an Event Status?

An event status is a custom field that you may apply to your event (either manually or automatically) and allows you to categorize and color-code the event so that you can easily view the status from the Business Calendar, Sales Pipeline, and Reporting area. You can also kick off automations based on event status changes.

Change Event Status

Review the client decision, contract and payment status, and any team notes before changing a status.

  1. Navigate to your event through the pipeline, calendar, or searching directly

  2. Open Event Menu

  3. Click Edit Event Details, side panel

  4. Navigate to Event Setup

  5. Review the current event status

  6. Choose the Event Status that matches the event

  7. Click Save

  8. Click Done

Open the event Timeline, Messages, and To-Dos to see whether the new status scheduled a message or task. Check the Sales Stage on the Pipeline separately if your business uses both.

Create Event Status

You can create custom Event Statuses for organization and activity triggers in your account.

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click Business Setup

  3. Click Event Status

  4. Click Edit or Add to update your statuses

  5. Enter the status name, description, and desired color for status and text

  6. Click Save

Note: You can apply an event status by using Invoice Helpers, manually selecting the event status on Event Info tab, and within Portal Templates to trigger your automations.
