Why Can’t I See the Pay Button?

If you or your client cannot see the Pay button on an invoice, it is typically due to one of the following configuration settings.

Review the scenarios below to determine why the payment option may not be visible.


1. Releventful Pay Has Not Been Activated

Online payments require Releventful Pay to be activated on your account.

If your payment processor has not yet been connected, the system will not display the Pay button on invoices.

To enable online payments, you must complete the Releventful Pay setup process.

2. Payment Visibility Is Turned Off

The Quick-Close Invoicing Settings control which steps are visible to your client when they review their proposal and invoice.

If Show Payments is turned off, payment options will not appear on the invoice and the Pay button will not be displayed.

To enable payments:

  1. Open the Invoice Editor.

  2. Locate the Quick-Close Settings panel.

  3. Ensure Show Payments is turned ON.

When enabled, any active payment requests will be visible to the client.


3. There Are No Active Payment Requests

The Pay button will only appear when an invoice has an active payment request.

If no payment requests exist, the system has nothing to collect and the payment option will not be displayed.

To add a payment request:

  1. Open the Invoice Home Screen.

  2. Click Manage payments from your customer to open the Payment management page.

  3. Click Add.

  4. Choose either:

    • Add Payment Schedule, or

    • Add Payment

Once a payment request has been created, the Pay button will appear when the client reaches the invoice step.

Understanding the Client Payment Workflow

If all Quick-Close settings are enabled, the client will typically complete the following steps:

  1. Review the proposal and click Submit & Continue

  2. Sign the contract and click Submit & Continue

  3. View the invoice and submit payment

If parts of this workflow are disabled, the client may be able to skip directly to the invoice.

These settings allow you to customize the experience based on how you prefer to collect payments from your clients.


Still Not Seeing the Pay Button?

Confirm the following:

✔ Releventful Pay is activated
Show Payments is enabled in Quick-Close settings
✔ At least one payment request exists on the invoice
