Applying Payment Schedules to Invoices

Learn how to apply a saved payment schedule to an invoice and confirm installment amounts, due dates, and existing payments before sharing it with your client.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Choose a saved schedule for an eligible invoice, then check due dates and existing payments before saving.

Why this matters

The event invoice brings together what the client owes, what was requested, and what was received. Review the balance and provider result before changing a schedule, recording a payment, or promising a refund.

Before you start

Open the correct event and invoice. Confirm the existing balance and any recorded payments.

In Releventful

  1. Open the event invoice, click Add Payment Schedule or Manage Payment Schedule and select the saved schedule.

  2. Compare its installments with payments already received, then click Save.

  3. Reopen the invoice's payment schedule to confirm due amounts and dates before sharing it.

How to make the most of this step

Open the invoice and check money already received before applying a schedule. Compare each scheduled amount and due date with the remaining balance. An invoice with payments already recorded deserves individual review so a new schedule does not ask the client to pay an amount twice.

A useful decision

Check the client, brand, item prices, tax, service charge, and any existing payment before sending an invoice revision. A saved total is not proof the client has seen it.

Check the result

Review the updated invoice, payment schedule, and client balance. Confirm live payment or refund results with the provider.

Important to know

Editing an invoice record is different from collecting or returning money. Confirm online payment or refund results with the configured provider.
