Written by Naomi Sherman

Keep the people connected to an event accurate so messages, signing requests, payment links, and portal access reach the right recipients.

Before you start

Know each person’s relationship to the event and whether they should see the portal, sign, pay, or only receive a message.

Determine which type of contact is needed on the event.

  • Client - they can receive invoices and will be able to view any permissioned item in the portal

  • Contact - they can view any permissioned item in the portal

  • Employee - they can view all details in the portal

Note: Make sure your employees have the right access for the roles assigned.

In Releventful

  1. Navigate to your event through the pipeline, calendar, or searching directly

  2. Open the Event Menu, side panel

  3. Click Contacts, under Event Sections

  4. Click Manage Contacts

  5. Choose to Add Client, Add Contact, or Manage Employees

  6. Search by the person's name or email address

  7. Click Add

  8. Click I'll do it later if they need to be added to the portal at a later time

  9. Select which existing event items to share with the contact, if adding an employee then check if the employee Has Access to Portal

  10. Click Share Selected Items or Not Now if none are being shared

Reopen Contacts and check the person, email address, and access. You may also preview or send a test link only after checking which documents and tasks the contact can see.

Note: For a signer, open the event's invoice and click on the + next to Client, choose their invoice access and click Grant Access. Then open the contract and add that person under Signature Settings.

Remove a Contact

To remove a contact or client from the event hover over the contact to reveal the options, then click Remove.

Convert a Contact to a Client

If you need to convert a contact then hover over the contact to reveal the options, select Convert to Client.

Send Event Link

To give a contact access to the portal or to resolve access trouble, hover over the contact and select Send Event Link Email to Client or Resend Event Link.

Log In as Client

To view the portal as your client sees it, hover over the client's name in the contacts list and select Log In as Client.

Note: Each user receives a personalized access link to the event portal, tied specifically to their email address. For simplicity, clients do not need a username or password, and clicking their link logs them in automatically.
