Creating an Event

Learn how to create an event and set up the essential details for planning, billing, client access, and staff work.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Create an event record when you need event-specific dates, planning, billing, a client portal, or staff work. It can remain unbooked while the sale is in progress.

If you are using Releventful's website lead form to funnel leads into Releventful, an event will automatically be created when the inquiry is converted to a sales lead. Leads can be automatically converted to a sales lead or request approval based on your account settings.

To qualify a lead:

  1. Click Notifications on the main menu

  2. Then Convert Inquiry To Sales Lead

Create an Event

Before you start, check if the client already has a lead in Releventful and confirm the event type, brand, date, location, and primary contact.

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard and click New Event, top right

  2. Select the existing lead, or select + Add New Client

    1. Select I'll do it later if you would like to send the client a link to the portal at a later time

    2. Enter at least the First Name, Last Name and Email Address

    3. Click Save, top left

  3. On the Event Info screen, select the appropriate brand (if you have multiple brands enabled in your account), enter the event name, date, start and end time, event type

  4. Click Save, top left

After the event is created, check which template steps appeared for the event type and whether any messages or payment request are scheduled.

You may adjust or add additional details, such as venue location, rooms, guest count and more, as they are received from the client by editing the Event Info details and then click Save.

Copy an Event

Copying an event allows you to choose which parts of the event you would like to copy over. Copying an event is needed if you:

  • Perform repeat business with a customer

  • Are performing an event that is very similar

  1. On the event portal, click on the three dot icon, top left

  2. Click Copy Event

  3. Choose the day and time you would like to copy to the new event (if you need to copy multiple dates, click + Add Date to Copy List to add additional dates)

  4. Choose the event information you would like to copy over

  5. Click Copy Event
