Event Host Liability Insurance is only available within the United States
What is Event Host Liability Insurance?
Event Host Liability Insurance protects your users and their clients from financial risk if something goes wrong at their event. Whether it’s a guest injury or damage to the venue, this coverage helps ensure that the event host isn’t left with costly bills or legal claims.
How does it work?
Through the partnership with Vertical Insure, users will now have the option to automate the Event Host Liability Insurance process directly through Releventful. Event planners and venues can send a request to their clients to purchase insurance, and clients can purchase the policy in their client portal. After purchase, event planners and venues will have automatic access to the proof of insurance documents in their dashboard.
Clients who purchase a policy will receive an automatic confirmation email from Vertical Insure containing policy information and details on how to file a claim.
How will this benefit your business?
Embedding this insurance directly into your platform makes it easy for event professionals and hosts to protect themselves with just a few clicks – improving their experience and your platform’s value.
What does the policy cover?
Event Host Liability Insurance protects event hosts against claims of bodily injury or property damage to third parties. Venues often require this type of insurance, and they may also specify a minimum coverage limit. The policy from ViCoverage includes $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate plus a waiver of subrogation.
How much coverage is needed?
The amount of coverage varies based on the venue and event, though it is generally recommended to carry at least $1,000,000 in liability coverage.
Does the policy include alcohol-related incidents?
Liquor liability is available to purchase as an add-on to cover the risks associated with serving, selling, or distributing alcohol.
Can a policy be purchased for an event outside of the United States?
At this time, policies cannot be purchased outside of the United States.
How does the claims process work?
All policy information and details on how to file a claim can be found in the policyholder’s customer portal account at customers.vicoverage.com. Policyholders can create a free account using the email address associated with their policy. Alternatively, the same information is included in the confirmation email each policyholder receives from ViCoverage after purchase.
Claims will be submitted digitally and immediately routed to our insurance carrier to begin the adjudication process. Vertical Insure will help guide each policyholder through the claims process, which typically involves:
Providing details of the incident in a first notice of loss form,
Uploading relevant documentation,
Cooperating with the adjuster as they understand the details of the incident.
The policyholder cannot locate their policy details or Certificate of Insurance.
The easiest way for policyholders to access their policy details is to create a free customer portal account at customers.vicoverage.com using the email address associated with the policy.
If the policyholder is unable to create an account or view their policy in the portal, please email our customer support team at support@vicoverage.com. Be sure to include the policyholder’s name and any other relevant information you may have in your email.
