Creating Automated SMS Messages

Learn how to create automated SMS messages with the right content, recipient, consent, sender, timing, and workflow trigger.

Written by Naomi Sherman

Draft the text message, check its sender, consent, recipient, and timing, then test before allowing live delivery.

Why this matters

A workflow repeats work for the right event at the right time. Rae can prepare a complete draft quickly; your team then checks every starting condition, recipient, message, and task before publishing.

Before you start

Know the event or lead condition that should start the workflow and who should receive each action.

In Releventful

  1. Open the event type's draft and click Add workflow > Build manually > message > Text message.

  2. Enter the message, choose the recipient and check the sender, consent and timing; turn the workflow on when published.

  3. Click Save draft, Review saved draft, Try the client portal and Review event impact before publishing.

A useful decision

A message can contact a real person; a To-Do creates work for its assignee. Check the recipient, visibility, wording, and on/off state before publishing the item.

Check the result

Preview a matching example and monitor the first live run. Confirm any message reached the intended person.

Important to know

A saved draft is not live. New items begin off for review. A published workflow can send real messages or create tasks when its conditions are met; existing events require their own impact review.
